Quannie is a former teacher and assistant professor, dean of student services, school administrator, and business manager. Currently, he is a consultant in education and business, and grant writing. He has a BS in Business Admininstration (Marketing) from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ; MEd in Educational Administration from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA; and completing his doctoral degree in Educational Administration at PSU. He is a former Rockefeller Foundation Fellow in higher education and interned at Mesa Community College, Mesa, AZ.

He is also a jeweler making special pieces in gold and silver. He attributes his work in jewelry to two close uncles from the Hopi Reservation: Lawrence Saufkie and Norman Honie, both renowed and accomplished jewelers. His personal goal is to help other artists in marketing their art work through SWNAP art venues; assisting artists in finding other art venues with other art organizations, and, being a mentor to young aspiring Native American artists and their parents.
